Chris Crossed Murder by Lauren Carr
It proves to be a Christmas to remember when the Matheson family receives the horrendous news that Chris Matheson’s body has been found in the woods near an international airport.
Everyone is stunned—especially Chris Matheson.
The mystery deepens when they discover the victim has Chris’s federal agent badge and appears to have been investigating one of his old cases.
The Geezer Squad’s latest case is not only a whodunit but who-got-dun. Is this a case of mistaken identity? Was Chris the intended victim? If not, then they must identify the murder victim to find his killer.
With Christmas days away, join the Chris Matheson and the Geezer Squad as they race to piece together the clues to their most puzzling case yet.
The fourth book in the Chris Matheson series is just as good as the first three! It can be read as a standalone but once you read one book in the series, you will want to read the rest. A cold case from Chris's past about a missing college student comes back and the Geezer Quad jumps on the case. I love how the author combines the right mix of Chris's personal life with his wife Helen and their children, with the detective work needed to work the cold case. A constant in this series is Chris's dog, Sterling. Sterling is a former police dog and is very protective of Chris. Sterling and Chris have a special bond and battle over the car radio!
This is a series you will fall in love with if you enjoy crime stories with a mixture of family life. I hope the author writes more books about Chris and Helen because I would love to read them!
