Everyone is Watching by Heather Gudenkauf

Image
Welcome to my stop on Park Row Books virtual book tour for Everyone is Watching , the latest hot book by Iowa author, Heather Gudenkauf. I was so lucky to see her on tour because I love her books and she is the nicest and easiest person to talk with. I hope you enjoy reading the first chapter of this book and find out you need to add it to your TBR! About the Book: The Best Friend. The Confidant. The Senator. The Boyfriend. The Executive. Five contestants have been chosen to compete for ten million dollars on the game show One Lucky Winner. The catch? None of them knows what (or who) to expect, and it will be live streamed all over the world. Completely secluded in an estate in Northern California, with strict instructions not to leave the property and zero contact with the outside world, the competitors start to feel a little too isolated. When long-kept secrets begin to rise to the surface, the contestants realize this is no longer just a reality show—someone is out for blood.

Garden Girl by Renny DeGroot

Image
Welcome to my stop on Rachel's Random Resources virtual book tour for the audiobook, Garden Girl . I loved the narration and the story.  About the Book: Gordie MacLean, a 53-year-old bachelor detective is content minding his own patch of Cape Breton Island with its rugged coastal landscape and low crime rate. When the remains of a missing person are discovered though, he’s in the right place at the right time to be lead on the case. MacLean battles his sergeant’s scorn and his own demons to prove that he can hunt down the killer; a killer who will stop at nothing to protect their long-buried secrets.   Review: If you enjoy a good mystery/police procedural this book would be good for you. A body is found while digging up a garden and the nickname Garden Girl stuck for a little while. I listened to the audiobook which was about 9 hours. I really enjoyed the police work and how they had to follow multiple avenues to try to solve the case. Gordie is a very relatable character.

The Last Resort by T.J. Emerson

Image
When I see a T.J. Emerson book I know I am in for a treat. The Last Resort is an Amazon bestseller and is on tour with Rachel's Random Resources. About the Book: As soon as you first see the house, a former hotel in a picturesque enclave of the Cypriot hills, you know it's the perfect home for you – with breath-taking views, a refreshing pool, and peace and quiet, away from the rest of the world. A private resort in paradise. A place to recover and grow. But paradise isn’t cheap, and as the debts mount, you could lose everything you've worked so hard for. Until someone makes you an offer: to keep your home, all you have to do is take a life. But you could never do that… could you?   Review: I picked up this book purely on the cover and the author. I briefly read the back cover but already knew I was going to read it. This story transports you to a beautiful holistic resort with a dark side. It is a fun book to read and try to guess if the resort group will fo
