The Secrets We Conceal by S.R. Fabrico

Image
Happy Monday! Today I'm bringing you a heavier, but very important book. S.R. Fabrico's The Secrets We Conceal. It is her debut novel and what a debut! I'm so thankful to LoveBookTours for introducing me to this book and allowing me to be part of its blog tour. Book Blurb Laura Shirk is a normal, happy, go-lucky, little girl playing with Cabbage Patch dolls and Legos. Until she isn’t. Set in the late 1980s-early 90s, a visit to her aunt and uncle’s house changes everything. What follows is a nerve-racking story shedding light on child sexual abuse. As the tragedy unfolds, Laura mutters through life concealing her secret from everyone. Feeling alone and isolated, she struggles to navigate her younger years wondering if she can or will ever find happiness. Then, Laura meets ‘the perfect man’ for her. Can he heal her heart and break down her steel walls? Review The author wrote an amazing book. The subject matter is very heart wrenching but S.R. wrote it in a way tha

The Break by Daniel Hurst

Image
This is my first tour for Zooloos Book Tours and a huge thank you for including me on this tour. I like finding new tour companies because they introduce me to new authors. Daniel Hurst is a new author to me and I loved his book. I will definitely be reading more. He even has a free copy of his book, Just One Second . I hope you enjoy Daniel's books as much as I did! Review: The story is told by Karen, Eve, and Peter. Karen is like many mothers feeling overwhelmed by her work and family life. Her children run her ragged, her marriage is healing, and she works fully time. Karen met Eve at the gym (when she can get away) and they become friends. When Eve tells Karen about this cute house you can rent for a day or two, Karen is excited about getting away for a little bit. I related a lot with Karen. She wanted time to herself but felt guilty taking it. But there is so much going on behind the scenes that no one knows with Eve, Karen, and Peter. When I was reading this book on my K

The Cradle by Ron Sami

Love Book Tours invited me on the blog tour for Ron Sami’s first book. The Cradle , and I was intrigued. The cover is gorgeous and I couldn’t pass it up. The Cradle is the first book in The Eagre series. The second book, On the Eve, came in June 2021, and the third book, The Journey , is expected to be released in less than a month on April 21 st . All the covers are amazing so great job to the team that designed them. The Eagre series are set in a fantasy world with dark magic and new lands. I’ve been expanding my reading from my normal genres and am glad I stretched for this book. What I loved most about this book was the character names. Sami is extremely creative with names such as The Gift, Little Paw, Loyon, just to show a few examples. At the end of the book there is a cast of characters, which is helpful if you need clarification while reading as there are a lot of characters. The next thing I loved was Sami created a whole new world with its own rules. You have to suspend yo
