We didn't ask for this by Adi Alsaid - BLOG Tour

Image
Adi Alsaid’s new young adult book, We Didn’t Ask for This, is on sale next week of 7April. I think in this time of so many unknowns we are all looking for strong books and books to escape in. This book is a story about a young woman standing up for what she believes in. Students at Central International School look forward to the annual school lock in. Every club has a booth setup with games, there are athletic competitions, and even a secret party planned by one chosen student. This year’s lock in will be different than anything before because Marisa Cuevas is going to make a statement to help the environment. She and her friends lock themselves to the doors, not allowing anyone in or out until her demands for the school to help clean up the environment are met. As you all know, I love getting behind the scenes into the book writing process and what inspired the book. Let’s have a Q&A with Adi Alsaid to get more information. Q: What inspired you to write this book

The Lies That Bind by Emily GIffin

Emily Giffin is one of my favorite authors so I was thrilled when I was approved for an advanced copy of her newest book, The Lies That Bind.   The book is about  a woman, Cecily, who lives in New York City in 2001. She is at a bar trying to convince herself not to call her ex when she meets, Grant. They quickly forge a relationship but then the terrible events of 9/11 occur and everything changes. This book is set in New York in the months leading up to 9/11 and the months after but 9/11 is not the focus of the story. The story is focused on Cecily and her relationships with her best friend, boyfriend, ex-boyfriend, and their families. If you have read Giffin's books, you know she will throw in surprises throughout the book. This is what I love most about her writing. I also love how characters from her past books make an appearance in this book.If you have not read her other books, you will not be lost but if you are familiar with the characters, you will love seeing them! My

Hi from a Social Distance

Hi everyone! I just wanted to check in to see how everyone is doing in these not-so-normal times. If you are like me, you are working from home, trying to homeschool your kids, and keep a 6 foot social distance from anyone outside my household. I wanted to thank all the health care workers, restaurant workers, and everyone in a critical business working outside your home to keep us healthy, fed, and safe. I truly appreciate everything you do! I have several BLOG tour stops over the next few weeks to help keep everyone entertained and hopefully introduce you to new books. I have several books on my TBR list that now I will have more time to enjoy, while at the same time, hoping and praying COVID-19 will be cured very very soon. I'll share a BLOG post next week and until then stay safe and Happy Reading!

The Sea Glass Cottage by RaeAnne Thayne - Blog Tour

Image
Welcome to my stop on  The Sea Glass Cottage  blog tour. This book was just released on Tuesday and it is well worth picking up. If you’ve read some of my other blog tour posts, you know that I love being a part of blog tours because it gives me a chance to show behind the scenes information with the author via Q&A. Also, if you are like me, you want a little more information about a book besides the description on the back cover so I’m including an excerpt so you can sample the book and find out if it is for you. RaeAnne Thayne is a new author to me. I know everyone says not to judge a book by its cover but I'm very guilty of this. If the cover looks interesting, I'll pick up the book to find out more and that is exactly what happened with this book. The cover is absolutely beautiful and caught my attention right away and I’m very glad it did. Q&A What made you write this story? (The "story behind the story") ? That’s a very long “story be

The Grace Kelly Dress by Brenda Janowitz - Blog Tour

Happy publication day to The Grace Kelly Dress ! If you love books about romance over time and how it affects different generations, you will enjoy this book. I’m delighted to be part of the blog tour for this book. For this stop on the tour, I’m featuring a Q&A with the author, Brenda Janowitz, and an excerpt from the book. I truly hope you enjoy the insider information on the book! Q&A Q: Tell us a little about your story and the story world you've created. A: The Grace Kelly Dress is the story of three generations of women, and the wedding dress that binds them together. It’s a story about love, friendship, and family, and it’s entirely different from anything I’ve ever written before. I hope that readers will join me on this journey, and come to love these women as I do. Q: What kind of research did you do for this book, and did you learn anything especially surprising? A: I’ve never written in a timeline other than the present, so there was a ton of
