Katy on Broadway by Ella English

Image
Available tomorrow, on Singing Out Day, is a delightful children’s book, Katy on Broadway . The book is perfect for beginning chapter readers as it has 5 chapters and is 44 pages long. This is my first tour on Blackberry Book Tours and I’m so excited. Their mascot, KittyBerry, is adorable and as a cat lover, is perfect! I’m a Superstar! Katy loves to sing and practices every day. Gerry says she can’t, and Lilian says New York is too dangerous for such a small kitty. But now she’s ready to try! She escapes her yard and makes it to the city. But it IS a big scary place! Now she’s all alone and lost. How will she find her way? Can she really become a superstar? I can’t enough great things about this book. As I said, it is perfect for beginning chapter readers. The chapters are short and easy to read. The pictures are beautiful and fit the book perfectly. I read this with my daughter who is 8 years old and we both loved it. Katy goes on an adventure to live out her dream despite many di

He’s Gone (Robyn Bailley, book 1) by Alex Clare

Image
He’s Gone is the first in the Robyn Bailley series. It is about Ben, a three year old, who goes missing from the local shopping center. Strangely Ben’s mother does not seem very bothered by her son’s disappearance. She also does not like the lead investigator. Robyn Bailley is transitioning from male to female and this is her first case back on the job. She needs to find Ben and also help people to recognize her as Robyn. As mentioned, this is the first book in a series and I’m looking forward to reading the rest. Thanks to Love Book Tours, I will be on tour with the entire series so look for tours over the next few months. If I had to pick a favorite thing about this book, it would be the title. It has multiple meanings showing the two stories of the book. Ben is missing and Roger (now Robyn) is gone. The author does an excellent job of writing a great crime story while at the same time telling Robyn’s story of transitioning. Robyn has to learn several times how important a womans pur

Never Coming Home by Hannah Mary McKinnon

Image
Full disclosure: I am huge Hannah Mary McKinnon fan. She is an auto buy author for me because of her wonderful writing style and books that keep you guessing. Hannah is also part of the duo who read the first chapter of a different book every Tuesday and Thursday on First Chapter Fun. It is on Facebook and Instagram. I have found so many new books because of First Chapter Fun and they always have giveaways! What more could you want? When MIRA Books invited me on the blog tour for Never Coming Home, I didn’t hesitate. The tagline in the description catches you immediately! Gone Girl meets Fargo in this deliciously sinister suspense novel about a man who plots his wife's murder to cash in on her inheritance, only to have his brilliant plan turned around on him. First comes love, then comes murder Set to inherit his in-laws’ significant fortune, which would help him care for his ailing father, Lucas Forester decides to help things along by ordering a hit on his wife. The Memory Keeper of Kyiv by Erin Litteken

Image
In the 1930s, Stalin’s activists marched through the Soviet Union, espousing the greatness of collective farming. It was the first step in creating a man-made famine that, in Ukraine, stole almost 4 million lives. Inspired by the history the world forgot, and the Russian government denies, Erin Litteken reimagines their story. In 1929, Katya is 16 years old, surrounded by family and in love with the boy next door. When Stalin’s activists arrive in her village, it’s just a few, a little pressure to join the collective. But soon neighbors disappear, those who speak out are never seen again and every new day is uncertain. Resistance has a price, and as desperate hunger grips the countryside, survival seems more a dream than a possibility. But, even in the darkest times, love beckons. Seventy years later, a young widow discovers her grandmother’s journal, one that will reveal the long-buried secrets of her family’s haunted past. This is a story of the resilience of the human spirit

Siggy The Soccer Dog by Brian Frederick

Image
I have a wonderful children’s book for you today. In it’s 16 pages, Siggy dreams of being a competitive soccer player but he must remember to be kind at all times. Siggy looks so cute as he twitches and turns in his sleep. But as they watch him, little do the family know that in his dream he is “ Siggy Sosidj ” the star player for Manchester United. It’s up to Siggy to rescue his team in the biggest game of his life. But can he do it?   I absolutely loved this book. Siggy teaches children to show kindness in all areas of the game. The illustrations are amazing. Siggy is a wiener dog and his body is twisting all over the pages. The print follows floating over the pages in a delightful way. The book is meant for children 5-8 years old and it is perfect for that age or younger. All children would be captivated by the pictures. It would be ideal for European children as American children may not know the soccer teams. Despite that the storyline is wonderful.   Thank you to Love B

I was excited when I saw it come up on iRead Book Tours list because I enjoy young adult books and the cover looks amazing! Blackwolf by Phil Gilvin

Image
Blackwolf is a YA/ dystopian/ cli-fi novel (cli-fi meaning climate fiction). I was intrigued by this book because of the multiple genres it crossed. How would the author write a book that fits all those genres? A huge thank you to Love Book Tours for including me on this book tour. I always love discovering new books and authors and especially in this case, new genres. This cover caught my eye right away and I'm so glad I picked it up. The Feud by Gemma Rogers

Image
Gemma Rogers writes psychological thrillers and just released her sixth book, The Feud. If you like Liane Moriarty or Lisa Jewell, you will like Gemma Rogers. I've read a few of her book and really like her style of writing that keeps you guessing until the end. The book is available now free for Kindle Unlimited members or through Amazon Audible. It is definitely worth checking out! Blurb: From the stranger in the car, to the madman at her door... The day my path crossed with Simon Fox I thought I’d already lost everything but then he ran me off the road with his flash car and belittling jibes. The men in my life had undermined me for too long. Enough was enough. Fuelled by alcohol and the desire to get even, I decided a spot of petty vandalism would make me feel a whole lot better. Wrong. Very wrong... I hadn’t realised that Simon Fox was not a man to be messed with. He showed me just how much I still had left to lose. Soon I was battling for my home, family and life.

This is the second book in the Burrowhead series.  The Burrowhead Mysteries consist of  When the Dead Come Calling, Where the Missing Gather , and What Doesn't Break Us . If you look into my past blog posts, I introduced you to When the Dead Come Calling. If you were intrigued by that book, you will love this one! Gone but not forgotten... An archaeological dig exposes a brutal history and a witness finally speaks. It seems the wickedness swirling in the harsh sea air of Burrowhead might be excised at last. But before DI Georgie Strachan can lift the veil of evil, a black horse is slaughtered on an altar in the woods and human remains begin to surface. Sinister rituals connect past and present but no one wants to see, or tell, or hear, the truth. Soon Georgie must face the questio
