Blind House by Jamie Lee Brooke

I know Halloween was yesterday but its always the right time for a scary book. Today I have The Blind House on tour with Zooloos Book Tours.

Fame is about to get deadly in this terrifying, fresh take on a haunted house thriller.

Set in an idyllic Cotswolds village, rookie paranormal investigator, Megan Forrest, is roped into investigating the strange goings-on at the home of Hollywood actor, Ross Huston.

Ross and his wife Deborah are convinced that their Victorian mansion is being haunted by the mentally ill patients who resided there in the late nineteenth century.
Patients who were brutally treated and murdered at the hands of a cruel doctor.

As Megan investigates ghosts from the past, two women from the present go missing- women who were last seen at the Huston’s property. Who was the doctor and how is everything connected?

When Megan finds herself swept up in a dangerous game, she can’t escape.
Who was the Doctor?
One thing she knows for sure, is that there is something watching her…

Review:

The Blind House is an old family house that is believed to be haunted. Megan is called in to rid the house of the spirits but she is dealing with her own grief. Her best friend and business partner recently died and she is heartbroken.

There is a lot of smaller stories in this book. There are flashbacks to 100 years ago when the house was used as a hospital. In the current, women who were last seen at the house are now missing. Megan is grieving for her friend. Spirits haunt the house. The owner is famous and up for a big role and does not want negative attention from the house. It all ties together nicely into a fast paced book. Some of the characters are quirky and I loved how it added to the story. If you love haunted house stories with a little extra, this book is for you!
