Troubles and Doubles and Reflections Askew: The Curious Case of the Two Emily Soos by Drew Palacio

Welcome to my stop on The Children's Book Review tour for Troubles and Doubles and Reflections Askew: The Curious Case of the Two Emily Soos. This post is sponsored by Dr. Drew Palacio. The review and opinions are my own. This book is perfect for ages 4 and up.

About the Book:

With a sigh, she went pacing before a large mirror that stood,

Remarking: “Ugh! I’m hideous! None of this looks very good!”

After struggling to find the perfect outfit, Emily Soo dances the night away at a fun party. But when she gets home, her inner voice Emily Two tries to put a damper on her evening.

Confronting our thoughts, fully facing tough emotions, and affirming ourselves can be difficult.

Can Emily Soo find it within herself to squash her Worry and Woe?

Review:

This a fun book to read. First because it rhymes and rolls off your tongue as you read it. Second because it has a great message about being kind to yourself.  Emily starts to doubt herself and as she does Emily Two comes along and tells Emily all the bad things she is doing and how terrible she is. Emily is sad but after a friend encourages her to stand up to Emily Two, Emily remembers how good of a person she really is. I loved this story, the message, the illustrations, absolutely everything about this book! I highly recommend it for readers young and old!

I’ve also read Shrieks and Sounds and Things Abound by this author and loved it! It’s written in the same rhythm style and has a great message.
