Take a sip and enter the world of the dead...
As the station prepares to close down for good, DI Georgie
Strachan is running out of time to find out what is really going on in
Burrowhead and put a stop to it. A deadly drug appears in the small Scottish
village, best consumed with the blood of a freshly slaughtered animal. But what
does this have to do with the deaths and suicides? And who is responsible for
supplying it?
As rituals and threats reach a frantic high, no one wants to
speak. It seems the drug is ingrained in the very fabric of the village.
Suspects abound as Georgie questions who she can really trust.
Review:
I am a huge fan of crime thrillers so this series is perfect for
me. The little extra is the paranormal aspect. I cannot describe Helen’s writing
any better than she does on her website, “I’m a multi-genre author of literary
fiction, science fiction and crime. I write about human connection across time
and space, juxtaposing science with the supernatural and realism with ghost story.”
This book starts a little different than the others with a
listing of the characters and a brief review of the timelines. This was a good
memory refresher. I loved getting lost in the book, which is easy to do with
her writing style. The characters were familiar and I enjoyed wrapping up their
stories. This series is one you will love from start to finish!
