Retribution by Heaton Wilson

Welcome to my stop on the blog tour offered by Rachel's Random Resources for Heaton Wilson's latest book, Retribution. It is available now wherever you buy or borrow books. DCI Jane Birchfield in on the case again. I've read Wilson's earlier book featuring DCI Jane Birchfield, Whatever It Takes so I was beyond thrilled to read another book focused on her.

In Retribution, DCI Jane Birchfield has a lot to deal with both personally and professionally. At home a recent engagement she did not see coming has her spinning. At work she is positive she will receive a well deserved promotion. Crime never stops but when a hit and run happens, Jane thinks it is a one time accident. Then more hit and run accidents happen and Jane and her team question if they are related. Once they find out all the victims are ex-military who served together, the next question is can they catch the killer before someone else is hurt.

Review

Wilson's writing style is fast paced so you get into the story right away. The case is steadily revealed at the perfect pace. I live in America and love reading books from Europe and the slang/language differences. It adds to the book for me and I don’t have any trouble understanding the book. I hope Heaton Wilson writes more books starring DCI Jane Birchfield! She is a very strong woman working in a male dominated field and I enjoy her stories.
