The Last Days of Us by Caroline Finnerty

The Last Days of Us is Caroline Finnerty's fifth book. It is available today wherever you find books. Trust me, it is a book that will tug at your heart strings and have you wondering how much is too much.  I can't say thank you enough to Rachel's Random Resources for inviting me to a part of this blog tour and introducing me to Caroline Finnerty. Please be sure to check out the other blog stops and grab this book for a heart wrenching read.

Sarah has a great husband and two beautiful children. Sarah's happy family is torn apart when Sarah's husband, JP, decides to leave his family for another woman, on Christmas Day no less. As Sarah and the kids try to recover she notices her daughter, Robyn, is not acting right. Throwing up, having trouble walking. Sarah takes Robyn in for tests and finds out she has an aggressive brain tumour with 100% fatality rate. Her little four year old has limited time left on earth and Sarah wants to treasure every moment.

The story is told by Sarah with small notes from her son, Harry. At first Harry does not understand what is happening with his parents or his sister. His innocent, youthful notes are so precious and helped me remember this story affects everyone in the family. I don’t want to give away everything but Sarah has a hard road in front of her as she does not agree with JP on how to spend the last few months of their daughters life. Sarah displays so much strength as a mother and wife, putting her children ahead of herself. This is something I think many parents can relate to. I cannot say enough good things about this book. It is a wonderful book but be prepared for it to be emotional.
