Hear Me Roar! I’m a HANUKKAHsaur by Naomi Gruer
Welcome to my stop on The Children's Book Review virtual book tour for Hear Me Roar! I’m a HANUKKAHsaur by Naomi Gruer. I received a complementary copy of this book and all thoughts and opi, nions are my own.
ABOUT THE BOOK:
Published on September 29, 2026, Miles is a dinosaur expert with a colossal imagination. When Hanukkah begins, he stomps into action as a whole herd of helpful dinosaurs. Each night, Miles becomes a new Dino—flipping latkes, spinning dreidels, and lighting the menorah—learning that even when things go wrong, he can help make them right. Packed with clever wordplay, Jewish traditions, and irresistible dinosaur energy, HANUKKAHsaur celebrates family, perseverance, and the belief that Dinos can do it!
BOOK REVIEW:
We meet Miles, who loves dinosaurs! He loves dressing up like them and giving himself names based on what his dino personality is doing. Miles is Jewish and celebrates Hanukkah and his dino personality wants to help do everything. His favorite saying is "Dinos can do it." This book is meant for preschool age readers and Miles provides some valuable lessons about helping out at home, especially if you made the mess. Its teaches grace as no one gets mad when a mess is made. They just pitch in and clean it up.
The story also teaches about Hanukkah in an easy to understand way perfect for this age group. One of my favotire parts is the glossary at the end of the book. It includes the facts about the Hanaukkah words, Miles imaginary dinos, and the real dinos they are based on. It also had a fun activity asking the reader to find the dinos in the story.
This book is delightful from the amazing illustrations to the easy to understand words that bring the story to life!
