The Accused by Owen Mullen

The fourth book in the PI Charlie Cameron series publishes today, September 21st. This is the first book I’ve read in the series but I did not feel like I was missing out on anything as the book read as a standalone. PI Charlies Cameron works with the less than ideal in society. When the wife of a notorious gangster approaches him for help he knows things can’t end well. At the same time Charlie is working on a case for a convicted felon who is in trouble with the law again for a crime he may not have committed.

The series is set in Scotland, which I love because I love the UK. The setting does not play a large part in the story but I loved reading it. The story is told from several POV’s, which I really enjoy. Charlie’s cases deal with the darker side of the world, diving into gangs and cover up murders. The writing will keep you engaged especially as each chapter is a different persons POV. If you enjoy crime novels and twists that never end, this book is for you.
