Float Plan by Trish Doller

Anna is devastated when her fiancé dies by suicide. What signs did she miss? Could she have stopped him? What about their life together? They had planned a trip to visit several islands on a sailing boat. When its time for the planned trip, Anna decides to take it. What happens next is a story of healing and finding yourself.

The story begins 10 months after Anna's fiance's death and the start of what was supposed to be their sailing trip together. Anna starts out on the trip by herself and quickly learns she cannot sail alone. She is not experienced. At her first stop, she finds a professional sailor, Keane, to help her on her trip. Although Keane is handsome, Anna is mourning her fiance and trying to find her new purpose in life. Keane is also struggling with his life's direction.

This book is all about healing and finding yourself again. Despite the heavy sounding plot, it is a easy book to read. The story is told with a humorous side. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves stories about rebuilding and overcoming struggles. It is also interesting to note that this is Trish Doller's first adult novel. She has written several award winning YA novels. Based on this book, I can't wait to read more of her adult novels!
