The Safe Place by Anna Downs

Emily loses everything and then is offered an amazing opportunity to work with a family in France. The house is beautiful, the family is beautiful but something seems odd to Emily. The family’s daughter, Auriela, has an illness that requires her to not go on the sun and stay at the family’s home at all times. Emily forms a great relationship with the mother but can’t shake the feeling that something is wrong.

The setting of this book was absolutely beautiful. It’s a secluded house on the coast of France. There are two houses, the main house and the first house. Emily stays in the guest house and it not allowed in the main house.

The book is told from several characters views and this always makes books interesting for me as you see the story from multiple angles.  Through the different characters you see the story unfold and it’s a great story. It will keep you guessing.
