Guilty by Ruby Speechley

Welcome to my stop on Rachel’s Random Resources for a new book!! Out June 7th in the US, the book will keep you guessing. Who is guilty???

About the Book:

“You’re invited to my farewell party. I’ve got something to tell you before I die…”

Heather wants to leave this world with a clear conscience.

One confession. One secret. Two scores to settle.

Heather accepted the fate of her terminal diagnosis long ago, but now the time is nearing, she arranges a huge farewell party for her nearest and dearest.

She wants to say goodbye to everyone personally, but there’s another reason she wants the people in her life to gather.

She knows who killed young Simon Eyre all those years ago, and she needs to tell. The boy deserves justice.

But she doesn’t realise that by freeing her own inner demons, she’s unleashing much worse secrets, and putting everyone at risk…

Review:

The premise of the book is intriguing. A woman with only a few months to live wants to say goodbye and clear her conscience at a party with everyone she knows. We know from the first page she has a secret to share but we don’t know what it is. Things don’t go as planned and bodies start showing up. From there we follow the characters on a wild ride where you don’t know who to trust and secrets from the past come to light.

What drew me to this book was the cover and the author. I’ve read books by this author before and enjoyed them so I wanted to read this one. The cover has an eye catching picture and an even more eye catching tag line.
