Corfu Capers is the first book in Joy Skye’s Sublime Retreats Romance series. The second book was released this week on March 31st, titled Clueless in Croatia. Review

This heart-warming book is the perfect escape from our daily lives. Since we cannot travel due to COVID, the chance to spend a few days on the beautiful island of Corfu is perfect. The story begins with Kate, Scott’s mother, planning a week getaway for herself, Scott and his girlfriend Linda, Linda’s friend Charlotte and Scott’s friend Marc. Scott plans to propose to Linda during the trip and is very nervous. It does not help that Kate has no regard for Linda’s seafood allergy and orders many all seafood meals. As the week progresses and secrets are revealed one has to wonder how this will all end.

I loved this book. It was a very quick read (around 2 hours). I had just read two long heavy content books so this was a wonderful break. I feel in love with the characters and enjoyed watching them find themselves throughout the book. Without giving anything away, the ending the best part. Once you read it, I hope you will agree.

 

Author Information

Joy lives on the seductive island of Corfu with her four dogs and an embarrassing number of cats.

Her many years working in the tourist industry on this sunny isle and her love of all things literary inspired her first novel Corfu Capers which recently hit the #1 spot in Parenting and Family humour much to her delight.

She loves to cook, dance and drink wine, usually at the same time, and is currently working on book number two, due to be released later this year.

She also loves to travel, absolutely anywhere, and is looking forward to jumping on a plane!
